Gift Certificate Danny’s education in golf and the field of teaching-learning has included many years of study with noted PGA teachers Bob Toski located in Miami, Florida, Jackson Bradley located in Austin,Texas and Ron Saathof located in Houston,Texas. His teaching career has included positions as director of instruction at several Houston area golf facilities. Danny’s research and study in the art and science of teaching and student learning, has been a continuous learning experience throughout his career. But, the most pivotal point in his course of learning has been the research and study in the psychology of teaching and learning with Dr. Jay Hall, a former University of Texas professor of psychology, noted psychologist and author.

Danny’s philosophy in teaching and learning can be summarized in that successful teaching is dependent upon successful student learning. Student understandings of physical form and function is of little value without instruction and a curriculum that can provide the learning process as a mental means of achieving the physical golf swing. Student learning requires a simplified and structured mental program to operate the golf swing accurately, efficiently, and consistently. Danny’s curriculum used in instructional programs is based in teaching-learning principles that provide an innovative approach in facilitating a positive change in how students think, perceive, and understand the golf swing.

A teacher is one who makes himself progressively unnecessary.

Learning is not the result of teaching, as often thought, but is the result of students successfully learning how to use their personal learning process in learning. Accurate and effective instruction requires students to be prepared for learning as in knowing how to learn in golf. As prepared learners, students will experience a paradigm shift from traditional instruction in how they perceive and understand the golf swing in whole. With whole understandings, students learn how to properly perceive the golf swing in terms of its purpose and inherent structural properties. Students that are properly prepared for learning and using a valid curriculum will experience momentum in accurate learning, validity in understandings, and a sense of independence from instruction. Proper short-term instruction leads to long-term learning and student ownership of their golf swings. Crowley Golf Training's innovative approach to Teaching-Learning in golf, is consistent with successful learning and performance in business, sports, and in life; how students think will determine how they learn and perform in any field of study.
